About

Living Faithfully in Exile

Like the exiles who wept by the waters of Babylon (Ps. 137:1), we live between two worlds: the world we inhabit, and the world God has promised. As Catholics, we live as hopeful exiles, rooted in the conviction that Christ has already conquered every force of evil that rises against Him. Our task is to remain faithful, thoughtful, and courageous until our life on this mortal coil comes to an end.

Why Refuting Babylon?

Refuting Babylon is a Catholic apostolate dedicated to engaging the questions, philosophies, and cultural forces shaping secular society and evaluating them through the light of Catholic truth and wisdom. Because the mission of the Church is not merely to survive the exile, she is called to boldly witness and proclaim the Gospel within it.

We’re not interested in polemics or culture wars; it’s about the intellectual and spiritual task of naming errors, illuminating them with the truth, and helping Catholics navigate a confused age with clarity and conviction.

To refute Babylon means to stand with Christ our king and His Church against the counterfeit kingdoms of our age, and to speak truth where the world demands silence.

We hope you’ll stand with us and use this website as a resource or stepping stone to deeper conversations with loved ones and those you care about.
